Hello. As I said in the description, my videos saved from Snapchat will no longer play. Instead, a loading wheel constantly spins with no end. It seems to be somehwat random though, because some of my videos from Snapchat do work. It's just that most of them do not. And it doesn't seem to be that only certain videos from before or after a certain date work either. There are working and non-working strewn throughout my videos collection in my camera roll. Is there any way to fix this? I've looked through the site and nobody has been able to give an answer as to what's been happening. People keep trying to restore their phone and other solutions but nothing seems to work. Please help!

This has happened to me too! It's so weird, once I save them they work for a month or so... then one day out of the blue they stop working and mine show the buffering wheel as well. I'd really like to know how to fix this as I have a lot of videos from snapchat saved and I really don't want to lose them.

This problem has been affecting me since March, every so often there will be a certain video I've saved from snapchat that decides it doesn't want to work anymore. Very annoying as they were saved for a reason. Is there still no solution to this?

Thank you for posting this!!! I transferred my snaps from my iPhone 6s to my pc (not mac) and hardly any of them would show the video. The audio would play but no video. (windows media player) I was super frustrated until I downloaded the VLC media player and it worked like a charm! I'm even going to donate to them for providing such a great free service. Thanks again.

Unfortunately, when you export images through the app one at a time, the metadata is scrubbed and replaced with a snapchat.jpeg and the date of export. However, if you view details in app, it will show the date, time, and location without an issue.

Payments will be allocated in accordance with our proprietary payment formula, which may be adjusted by us from time-to-time, and which is based on a number of factors, which may include the total number of unique video views attributable to your Qualifying Snaps, the relative performance of and engagement generated by your Qualifying Snaps compared to other Snaps in Spotlight, and the geographic location of your Qualifying Snaps, or users viewing your Qualifying Snaps during the Eligibility Period.

Whether you reach the View Threshold, and the amount of any Payment you may be eligible to receive, may also be impacted by our moderation and content suggestion algorithms and procedures, which may prioritize content by taking into account a number of factors, including the total number of unique video views and favorites attributable to a Snap, the number of daily users who view your content, the time spent by users viewing your content, your geographic location and account status, the past performance of your content, whether your content utilizes Snap technology (e.g., Snapchat Camera, Lenses, Filters, Sounds, etc.), whether your content relates to relevant trends and topics, which we may publish from time to time via the Trending page in the Snapchat application or on the Spotlight Tips & Tricks page, and whether your content and account adhere to these Spotlight Terms (including all Guidelines incorporated by reference).

If you (i) are an employee, officer, or director of Snap or its parent, subsidiaries, or affiliated companies, (ii) are a government entity, subsidiary or affiliate of a government entity, or member of a royal family, or (iii) submitted Snaps to Spotlight from a Business Account, you will not be eligible for Payments.

You agree and acknowledge that you have sole responsibility and liability for any and all taxes, duties, or fees relating to any Payments you may receive in connection with the Service. Payments are inclusive of any applicable sales, use, excise, value added, goods and services or similar tax payable to you. If, under applicable law, taxes are required to be deducted or withheld from any Payments to you, then Snap, its affiliate, or its authorized third-party payment provider may deduct such taxes from the amount payable to you and pay such taxes to the appropriate taxing authority as required by applicable law. You agree and acknowledge that payment to you as reduced by such deductions or withholdings will constitute full payment and settlement to you of amounts payable under these Spotlight Terms. You will provide Snap, its subsidiaries, affiliates, and any authorized payment provider with any forms, documents or other certifications as may be required to satisfy any information reporting or withholding tax obligations with respect to any Payments under these Spotlight Terms.

Spotlight may contain advertisements. You agree that you are engaging us, our affiliates, and our third-party partners, with no payment from you, to distribute advertising on the Spotlight Service in our sole discretion. We will determine all aspects of the advertisements distributed on the Spotlight Service, if any, including the type, format, and frequency of the advertisements distributed in connection with your Snaps submitted to Spotlight, in our discretion. We also reserve the right, in our discretion, to not show advertisements on, in, or alongside your Snaps on Spotlight for any reason.

Information we collect. When you submit Snaps to Spotlight, we collect information on its use and interactions, such as the number of views, view time, favorites, screenshot captures, and number of sends it gets in or from Snapchat. Last week Snap expanded that mid-roll program to more creators who can receive a share of revenue from ads running against their Snapchat Stories. TikTok and YouTube Shorts have similarly stood up ad revenue-sharing programs for short-form video creators in the past year, but neither platform has yet had much to show for how much money creators can make directly from their platforms. With 2 million followers and an average 2.5 billion monthly views on the platform, McKay is showing the story may be different on Snapchat.

Snapchat recently made it possible for users to buy products directly from your Snaps. New Shopping Lenses let you tag products within your content, so users can easily browse, interact, and purchase directly from your catalog.

Some influencers said Snapchat had paid them more than $10,000 in a day from its ad-revenue-share beta program. Two creators similarly told Insider the program had been lucrative for them, adding that it didn't require much additional work outside of their typical time spent making content for the app.

The money Snapchat is paying out through its Spotlight fund has, however, dwindled. It now pays millions of dollars per year, down from millions per week in June 2021 and $1 million per day in November 2020, a company spokesperson told Insider in October.

Snapchat is an American multimedia instant messaging app and service developed by Snap Inc., originally Snapchat Inc. One of the principal features of Snapchat is that pictures and messages are usually only available for a short time before they become inaccessible to their recipients. The app has evolved from originally focusing on person-to-person photo sharing to presently featuring users' "Stories" of 24 hours of chronological content, along with "Discover", letting brands show ad-supported short-form content. It also allows users to store photos in a password-protected area called "my eyes only". It has also reportedly incorporated limited use of end-to-end encryption, with plans to broaden its use in the future.

According to documents and deposition statements, Reggie Brown brought the idea for a disappearing pictures application to Evan Spiegel because Spiegel had prior business experience. Brown and Spiegel then pulled in Bobby Murphy, who had experience coding. The three worked closely together for several months and launched Snapchat as "Picaboo" on the iOS operating system on July 8, 2011.[9][10] Reggie Brown was ousted from the company months after it was launched.[11][12]

In June 2013, Snapchat version 5.0, dubbed "Banquo", was released for iOS. The updated version introduced several speed and design enhancements, including swipe navigation, double-tap to reply, an improved friend finder, and in-app profiles.[23] The name is a reference to the ghostly hero from Shakespeare's Macbeth, a character in the play who is ultimately seen to be victorious over evil.[24] Also in June 2013, Snapchat introduced Snapkidz for users under 13 years of age. Snapkidz was part of the original Snapchat application and was activated when the user provided a date of birth to verify his/her age. Snapkidz allowed children to take snaps and draw on them, but they could not send snaps to other users and could only save snaps locally on the device being used.[25]
