Peer Reviewing Suggestions

I've discovered a way to get results through peer editing. I used to email
sections of my doc out to people and little or no response. The response I
did get was vague at most. So here is what I did to get better results.
* Print out the doc you want edited.
* Create and print a cover sheet with the names of the people who will
be editing and provide a space for them to initial when they are done. We
called this a chop chain in the Navy.
* Ask each to make edits in a different color. To make it easy for my
co-workers, I attached a zip lock bag with enough colored pencils so that
each one is different.
* Provide some guidelines around what type of editing you want and
what the marks are that you want them to use.
* Give them a deadline and pass out the docs.
So far this has worked very well for getting feedback and accountability for
who is making what suggestions.
