The Department of Curriculum and Instruction, College of Education, The
University of Texas at Austin, is seeking applications for an
Assistant/Associate Professor in Second Language Literacy for
Adolescents/Adults. The position is expected to begin September 1, 1999.
Candidates should have an earned doctorate and a research agenda in the
appropriate field, and expertise in: (a) Second language literacy for
adolescents/adults; (b) English as a second or foreign language. Preferred
qualification: Advanced Level (or higher) oral and written proficiency in
Spanish, as determined by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign
Languages (ACTFL). Teaching and advising duties are at the M.A., PhD, EdD
and undergraduate levels. Salary is competitive and commensurate with
