Prestigious awards for OO

You may be interested to hear, if you haven't already, that the 2001 ACM
Turing award has been given to Kristen Nygaard and Ole-Johan Dahl for
their work on the SIMULA programming language whose concepts lie at the
heart of everything object-oriented. This follows closely on their award
of the IEEE von Neumann Medal for 2002. These are probably the most
prestigious awards in the computing profession.

In 2000, Nygaard and Dahl were made Commanders of the Norwegian Order of
St. Olav in recognition of the impact of their work internationally.
