If you have a Nikonos V that has bit the big one and would like to trade
for diving related goodies, please e-mail me.
I know you wont want to post the information here because nobody wants to
tell the world that they flooded and destroyed their camera! <G>
Thanks!

Southern Nikonos SELLS dead Nikonos V's that they've retrofitted into a
paperclip holders/pen holder for your office desk...$50, I think.
It shouldn't be hard to ask them for an "unassembled" one...
-hh (I've been tempted to buy one, but I figure I'll make my own :-)
hey, I want one! does it drip saltwater onto the desk for
authenticity's sake? :-)

How dead can a nikonos be that it's only worth making into a paperclip
holder?
I mean, the thing was not cheap initially right? You don't see too many
Porsches half buried upright in somebodies front yard, people use Chevys.
Simple economics, if you SERIOUSLY flood a Nikonos V you can destroy
the PCBs inside (many are the flexable type), and can often destroy
the shutter. The cost of replacing
these exceeds the cost of a new car (to carry on your thought, try
buying all the pierces to make a Porsche except the frame and see
what that costs).
As cameras go these days the Nikonos V is not all
that expensive.
BTW from the photo these look like a nice desk set, :-)

I don't disagree with you; but Eric wrote the "How dead..." part,
not me. just keeping the attributions straight...
