While watching Dateline NBC last night I couldn't help
but think that Stone Phillips would make the quintessential
Harlequin man, at least for the Harlequins of 10-15 years
ago (I know they've moved some away from the old h/h molds
since I started reading them in the late 70s). Back to Stone,
though---those dark good looks, deep voice and suave style are
to me very reminiscent of the portrait Harlequin authors used
to paint of the hero (and how about that name!). I bet he even
has strong, lean hands (remember back when the hero's hands were
always described this way, usually in the context of the heroine
noticing them while he was driving---he always drove fast, but with
complete control. :) Sometime's I really miss those old Harlequins).
