ZEPHYR'S LAST STOP
(Chicago) - - All Aboard! The Zephyr is returning to Chicago. It's been more
than 60 years since the Zephyr revolutionized train travel and brought the
nation into the streamline era. In May of 1934, the sleek diesel-powered
passenger train halved the Denver-to-Chicago record. Now in the jet age, the
Zephyr is a museum relic. The original three-car Zephyr is being restored for
exhibit at Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry, beginning in August.
Visitors will get to relive some of the Zephyr experience. The cars will
gently rock and scenes of the midwest will flash by the windows, thanks to
some video wizardry.
Does anyone know the curreent status/location of the Flying Yankee, sister to
the Zephyr, that was on display at Edaville for many years?

Another Zephyr piece of stainless is in the park in Douglass, WY; The
"Silver Salver" diner is in nice condition and resides with other
equipment next to the refurbished depot.
