Not a cure-all for the homeless problem, but a very good step in
the right direction: support your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate,
or help get one started in your area.
I have been active with HfH for the past five years, and believe
it is a very effective way to make a difference in your own community.
It is faith-based, ecumenical, and action-oriented. We don't need more
surveys, studies, or another level of bureacracy....just start building!
For more information, call 1-800-Habitat, or email me for a longer, more
personal commercial.

There is little being done inn the nation as a whole. There is much
that can be done. I have been homeless for several years and am now
ending that phase of my life with the help of The Center for the
Homeless in South Bend, IN.
You can learn more about them at http://www.center-for-homeless.com they
are a non-profit org but for some reason arte listed as a .com.
Having stayed in many shelters and missions around the nation I can tell
they are well worth copying.
