You could perhaps point out Biblical injunctions on smoking or alcohol?
The fascinating thing about the Bible, which is literally true in every
word, is that so few people are able to agree on what it says.

He doesn't love us?

Steve Hirsch said that the Bible is:
"true, literally in every word"

It's that so typical of Christians to think that the Bible is
literally true.

The Bible is a collection of STORIES, understand?
A collection of stories designed to teach Christian followers
various moral messages. Those things did not REALLY happen (seas do not
part and people do not live to be 900). They are tales written for
Christians to follow, not for them to gullibly, literally believe!

Christians like Mr.Hirsch must open their minds and understand
that their religion is simply one out of dozens, and that Christian
beliefs are private and no better or worse than others.

Christianity is JUST a religion that CERTAIN people follow, but
not everybody.

Well Steve, I seem to remember that one of Jesus' alleged
miracles was turning water into wine at a wedding feast.
I presume that the folks there were supposed to drink it,
though I guess there would be a symmetry between that and
the apples in the Garden of Eden if they were not supposed
to drink the wine.

Then of course there's St. Paul, whose words "a little wine
for the stomach's sake" were immortalized in the bible.

Of course, the correct spiritual guidance is found in the
Reasonably Good Book (every word is true, all interpretations
are to varying degrees false) which counsels the consumption
of ale on a regular basis.

This isn't the first time I've been mistaken for a Christian. What am I doing
wrong? Should I put more expletives in my messages? Don't I seem skeptical
enough? Is my sarcasm just too, too subtle? I'm hurtin' for certain.
