For reasons we cannot fathom, several common shortcuts (e.g. Ctrl-P to print;
Ctrl-S to save) do not work -- sometimes. We cannot find a common thread. It
definitely is not a problem with the keyboards since it occurs on two
separate (non-networked) PCs.
The problem clears itself when we use the mouse on the pull-down File menu.
Once we save (or print) the file, the keyboard shortcuts work -- for a
while. Then they lock up again.
This occurs on two different PCs in our office: a Pentium-90 and a 486-33.
Any suggestions to fix this?

Don,
When this happens again, look up at the top menu bar before you use the mouse
and see if any of the top menu items are colored ( file, edit ect...). If so
then just tap the esc key.
I sometimes hit the alt key, which selects file menu and none of my hot keys
work till I esc out or use a mouse to select an item.
