Subject: Titling Consistency for IEEE Conference Proceedings

Last October, you and Ilona Bicsak (from Columbia) addressed our Book Broker
Committee on the problems librarians have been facing with the IEEE
Conference proceedings due to titling inconsistencies. Since that time, a
staff committee was formed and has been meeting to determine the problem
areas, obstacles to solving those problems and possible solutions. Even
though the IEEE librarian is a member of the committee, we are now at the
point where we should have an "outside" professional on the team in order to
give us additional information and give weight to the recommendations that
we intend to present to the Volunteers who have to bless these
recommendations.
I would appreciate your suggestions as to who we could contact and invite to
our next few meetings. Our goal is to put together the package no later
than June 1. We have also been given permission to offer financial support
to the individual(s) who will help us in these final stages.
We truly appreciate the time you and Ms. Bicsak took to tell us about our
problem area. I'm happy to report that we have already seen some positive
reaction to our education efforts. I look forward to hearing from you.
