1995 SOUTHERN SHORT COURSE

The 46th Southern Short Course in News Photography, a three-day photojournalism
conference featuring speakers, workshops, trade show, portfolio critiques, and
aslide competition with categories similar to that of NPPA's POY, will be held
this year Friday April 28 through Sunday April 30, 1995 at the Radisson Hotel
in Asheville, NC.

DIGITAL 95 ON THE WEB

Reports of NPPA's Digital '95 Imaging Conference is available on the World
Wide. Kurt Foss of the University of Wisconsin <kf...@doit.wisc.edu> lead a
team of student journalists from the University of North Carolina, San
Francisco State University, and San Jose State University in live coverage on

WINNERS OF THE FIFTY-SECOND ANNUAL PICTURES OF THE YEAR COMPETITION

52nd POY contest in a message called "52nd Annual Pictures of the Year Winners"
(or as it appeared in my subject field "52nd Annual Pictures of t") it's a long
file so the result are only abstract here.
The contest was judged February 21 through March 2 at the University of
Missouri-Columbia. It is ponsored by the National Press Photographers
Association, The University of Missouri School of Journalism, with grants from:

L.A. COUNTY WANTS TO CHARGE MEDIA COVERING SIMPSON TRIAL

reported 3.2.95:
"Facing a bill for the O.J. Simpson murder trial already estimated at $2.4
million, Los Angeles County's board of supervisors is asking Judge Lance Ito
to charge the news media for costs associated with providing TV coverage of
the trial, Reuters News Service reports."
