Does anyone else have a problem with NETSHLD.NLM abending a Netware 4.11
server?
I am running NW 4.11 with SP6 and Netshield 4.02 with SP1 (which is the
latest). I have contacted NAI and they are currently looking into my
problem.
Here is the abend.log entry:

Bryan,

We are running McAfee version 4.0.02 with virus definitions dated 4.0.4.22 with no problems.

Rob.

Bryan, you are not alone buddy. As soon as I loaded Netshield
4.02 on my Netware 4.11 server I started receiving errors. The No
ECB Available Count started increasing and so did my Dirty Cache
Buffers. Immediately when I unloaded Netshld.nlm the ECB count
did not change. I then, rebooted the server without Netshield and
the ECB count remains at 0. I'm am afraid to load Netshield
again, but I'm also frightened by not having virus protection on
the server. Presently, I am scanning the server from the client
side.

It's frustrating...

I'm also running 4.0.02 or several months with 4.0.4023 DATs (just loaded
those now). I can sympathize with the fear of running it though. I was very
relieved to see it didn't abend my server. I never take McAfee's upgrades for
granted - to many problems in the past. I can send you a list of my modules
for version comparison if you'd like. I'd bet that's the problem, a conflict
between one of your NLMs that's different from those of us who aren't
ABENDing.
