hi all

it's seems that i have another problem ):
i have on my computer 3 OS's
winnt 4 server
winnt 4 workgroup
win 98
the last 2 are mainly to connect to the netware 4.11 server
anyway,i"m using a modem to gain access to the internet and it worked just
fine in all OS's's
after i installed client32 on win98 and nt i can connect to my isp but i
cant communicate
i"m getting errors like "can't establish sucket connection" or "the network
is down ??!"
on win98 i"m using client32 version 3.1
the protocols i have installed are:
client for microsoft networks
novell netware client
dial up adapter (obviously)
realteck rtl........ (network card)
ipx 32-bit protocol for novell netware client ->dial up adapter (a suspect )
" " " " " " " " "..................................... ->realteck
ipx/spx -compatible protocol->dial up adapter

the client for nt is version 4.60.202
the protocols :
novell ip gateway
nwlink ipx/spx compatible transport
nwlink netbios
tcp/ip-->> properties-->> ip =1.1.1.1 subnet=255.255.0.0
wins and dns are empty
of course the modem is configured as it shulde be in RAS

thanx
erez

Try configuring your dial up adapters TCP/IP properties properly.

If I'm understanding your message correctly, you probably have the IPX
gateway enabled. That's correct when you're connecting to an internet
account via the network, but not if you're dialing an isp directly from
your workstation. Disable that in Network Properties and see if that
helps. If it's enabled, Netscape et al will generate those errors.

I've never had this problem. Are you sure the target volume has long name
space?

Yep, both servers have long name space loaded. I was lead to believe this could
only be done in NW5.
