word spacing in Win version

Just wondering if anyone knows off-hand if the new Windows
version of NB will include not just kerning, but adjustment of
word spacing as well. So far, the only way I've figured out to
avoid huge rivers is by setting hyphenation down to two characters,
and even that can leave some nasty gaps between words. Am I
wishing for the moon?
