THE PURPOSE OF UID-FORUM
UID-forum is a general discussion list for people involved or interested
in all aspects of Universal Instructional Design (in some locations referred
to as Universal Design of Instruction, Universal Design for Learning and
other such variations).
UID (or UDI / UDL) is an approach to preparing learning events, materials
and resources so that they are more accessible and effective for all learners,
regardless of different physical abilities, cultural histories, learning
styles and preferences or present circumstances.
Definitions of UID can be found at various online locations, including
the website for the UID project at the University of Guelph, the owner
of this listserv: http://www.tss.uoguelph.ca/uid/uidintro.html
This list was created to give the global UID community a place to make
announcements, review and share resources and experiences, and organize
professional and community events. We encourage the following uses
of this list:

- Calls for submissions to journals and conferences
- Upcoming presentation dates
- Regional and international conferences

Our long-term goals are to build a more cohesive UID community, to bring
that community together by organizing events such as seminars and conferences,
and eventually to establish a peer-reviewed electronic journal about Universal
Instructional Design.

that there is no "e" at the end of "listserv". There are several
commands you can send to the LISTSERV software. In the interest of
brevity we have moved the rest of the technical information that is often
