Dear mla-ers:

A theater company in town is producing "I never saw another butterfly", a
play about the Terezin Ghetto during the holocaust. The script refers to
a theme from the "popular childrens' opera 'Ludvik'". The director is
looking for score/recording of Ludvik. I have tried verifying the title
via opera-Groves, Stieger Opern-Lexicon and other printed dictionaries
and lists, as well as WorldCat with various permutations of the name. I
have found reference to a Ludvik Kuba, Czech folk-song collector, but I
think that's a red-herring.

Help!

The search "lud,,,/sco" on OCLC turns up several entries for Ludovic by
Herold and Halevy, a 2-act opera first published in 1833 or so it appears.
Could this be what you're looking for? There were no hits on the search

They are actually looking for Brundibar. The script misreferences "Ludvik" as what should be "Brundibar.
