Bi Smartlink

I have a client with a smartlink wifi connector for a postage machine. They were using Sonicwall AP's with a Sonicwall TZ400 Firewall. We removed the Sonicwall AP's and replaced with Meraki MR44,46,and a 56. Created new SSID's and everything seems to be working fine. No rules were changed on the FW and all other client devices are able to connect just fine. The smartlink uses a webpage to configure the wifi settings and then you hold up a scanner to your monitor to transfer those settings to the smartlink device. however it keeps failing and the light code on the device indicated that its failing to get an IP address. I have even set a reservation in the FW DHCP attached to the devices MAC but still get the same error. This is a very basic network and no outbound blocking rules. I cannot see anything in the firewall logs that would indicate that anything would be blocked coming back into the network (even though nothing should be anyway) nor do I see anything in the Meraki connection logs with it even trying to authenticate. It works fine if hard wired into the network and client reported that it succeeded connection through the wifi setup while it was hard wired in but dropped immediately when ethernet cable was removed from the device and would not reauthenticate. Im still not seeing anything with the clients MAC address in the Meraki Cloud portal but did see the ethernet mac show up in the FW. So I dont believe it is an issue with the FW since it was able to communicate with a wired network connection but no matter what I have done so far I cant seem to get it to authenticate to the wifi. Anyone have any advice or ideas as to what could be happening or where I should look?

Can you check if the page where the smartlink doesn't work is built with the new or old editor? If it's the old one, you should get a banner in edition mode suggesting to convert it to the new editor. Smartlinks only works when using the new editor.


Hi Raphael Kösters If you paste a url in confluence page, it automatically converts it into smartlink. Is this happening for any new urls you are pasting or the existing one's ? For existing one's if you have changed the view to "Display URL" once, usually you don't get option to convert them again into Card or Inline view.
