Greetings from Austin, Texas.

As a part-time voyeur of this group, I've enjoyed following the various discussi
ons, both heated and tepid.

Today, my post is a request for recommendations concerning books on Japan. As a
recent graduate in Public Policy and Asian Studies, I am familiar with many of
the titles discussed and mentioned in this little niche in cyberspace. Howeve
r, I went to our local bookstore over the weekend and discovered many, many tit
les with which I'm not familiar. Therefore, any thoughts or reviews of titles,
new or old, will be greatly appreciated. I'm interested in the entire spectru
m--business, culture, economics, foreign relations, history, language, and poli
tics.

Thank you all for your insight.
