...ISPF/PDF manuals for V5.9? Hopefully in PDF format? I can find the ISPF manuals, but not the ISPF/PDF ones (except a BookManager format from V3.5 at IBM's pub center). Has ISPF/PDF been renamed or something?

Scroll down to "Product documentation". Click the "PDF" for the
appropriate "z/OS Internet Library". Scroll down the titles on the left
until you see ISPF.

It is not clear what you are looking for. The books were combined into an
'ISPF' name many years ago and also are part of the operating system.

The online books are here: http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/z/os/zos/bkserv/
Look at the 'elements and features' that correspond to your z/OS level.
Select your z/OS level, then select ISPF. There are both PDF and
bookmanager versions that you can download.

Hmmm... I think that we have some confusion here. The file editor tools, etc. for ISPF used to be a separate add-on product called PDF (not to be confused with the PDF filetype used by Adobe). Perhaps that has been rolled up into ISPF itself? It's not the ISPF Productivity Tools package either; that appears to provide other enhancements to ISPF.
I'll take a closer look at the books on the ISPF shelf, but as far as I could see the information that used to be in the ISPF/PDF manuals wasn't there the last time I looked.

It's been many years since the PDf product was rolled back
in to be part of ISPF automatically.

Perhaps you could benefit from our 2-day course, "ISPF Update"
which covers the changes from ISPF 3.x up to today, ISPF 6.1,
including referral lists, the UDLIST utility, modern cut and
paste, scrollable fields, and lots more. Details at:

Are you thinking of the ISPF Productivity tools?

BM ISPF Productivity Tool V5.10 includes the following additional features to help Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF) users increase daily productivity by minimizing keystrokes:

* Support for processing new object types (BookManager objects, SMP/E zones, and File Manager DB2 files) directly from an MSL or OLIST
* Elimination of the requirement to set an ISPF EDIT Initial Macro in each session, by saving it across sessions
* Ability to perform actions directly on z/OS UNIX objects, including absolute path names of up to 1023 characters in length
* Support for searching all displayed datasets with a single FINDTEXT command using the GLOBAL setting, or by reducing the search range by one or more files with the EXCLUDE setting
* Ability to EMPTY some or all of the concatenated libraries using a single command which deletes all members and compresses the space
* Ability for users to dynamically enable or disable selected ISPF Productivity Tool (IPT) command shortcuts without affecting other IPT commands
