We tried installing a copy on our LAN (should have made a copy of the
install diskettes first, because if you need to restart - forget it), and
this is one of the most unfriendly products to ever come our way.
Next, we have tried to get this sucker to log onto CCI and pass some
SQL commands. We have gotten nothing but problems from this. Again,
it might be because we have this on our LAN (we don't have hard drives).
We are using NetSoft as our 3270 emulator product, which is a supported
component, but only works occasionally.
Time to look for another product.
(remember, nothing is free)

Setting up a client query product in a client/server environment is
not easy. Both the query and reporting engines in Visual Express are
excellent. I've set up Visual Express to connect to IDMS and
Datacom/DB using both LU2 and TCP/IP. It's never easy just because of
the many peices of software and hardware (and people) that are
necessary to coordinate to get the connection to work right. Don't
blame the product for difficulties inherent in setting up a client
server environment. These environments are painful to set up, but
wonderful when working.
