Hello:

We want to configure the XCF connections in VTAM in our test sysplex. We have a look the Redbook SNA in Parallel sysplex and in the chapter 7 are the requirements for customize the vtam in a sysplex.
We have almost all the requirements:

1 .- Our vtams in the sysplex test (two systems) are defined correctly:
HPR = (RTP,RTP)
NETID = MAPFRE
XCFINIT = YES

2 .- XCF services are available: IST2158I VTAM HAS JOINED THE SYSPLEX GROUP ISTXCF

3 .- The ISTLSXCF node is created.

4 .- The XCF group is available
SIS1 RESPONSES ---------------------------------------------------
IXC331I 16.49.13 DISPLAY XCF 841
GROUPS(SIZE): ARCPLEX0(2) ATRRRS(1) BBCMF590(1)
ISTXCF(2) IXCLO006(2) KCNXCFCF(1)
VSIS RESPONSES ------------------------------------------------
IXC331I 16.49.13 DISPLAY XCF 809
GROUPS(SIZE): ARCPLEX0(2) ATRRRS(1) BBCMF590(1)
ISTXCF(2) IXCLO006(2) KCNXCFCF(1)

5.- The ISTXCF group is shared by 2 vtams:
RO *ALL,D XCF,GROUP,ISTXCF
IEE421I RO *ALL,D XCF,GROUP,ISTX 814
SIS1 RESPONSES -----------------------------------
IXC332I 16.52.05 DISPLAY XCF 927
GROUP ISTXCF: SIS1$$$$MAPFRE VSIS$$$$MAPFRE
VSIS RESPONSES -----------------------------------
IXC332I 16.52.05 DISPLAY XCF 813
GROUP ISTXCF: SIS1$$$$MAPFRE VSIS$$$$MAPFRE

6 .- The XCF connections in node ISTLSXCF are OK:
RO *ALL,D NET,E,ID=ISTLSXCF
IEE421I RO *ALL,D NET,E,ID=ISTLS 819
SIS1 RESPONSES -------------------------------------------------
IST097I DISPLAY ACCEPTED
IST075I NAME = ISTLSXCF, TYPE = LCL SNA MAJ NODE
IST486I STATUS= ACTIV, DESIRED STATE= ACTIV
IST084I NETWORK RESOURCES:
IST1316I PU NAME = ISTP30VS STATUS = ACTIV---X- TRLE = ISTT30VS
IST1500I STATE TRACE = OFF
IST314I END
VSIS RESPONSES -------------------------------------------------
IST097I DISPLAY ACCEPTED
IST075I NAME = ISTLSXCF, TYPE = LCL SNA MAJ NODE
IST486I STATUS= ACTIV, DESIRED STATE= ACTIV
IST084I NETWORK RESOURCES:
IST1316I PU NAME = ISTPVS30 STATUS = ACTIV---X- TRLE = ISTTVS30
IST1500I STATE TRACE = OFF
IST314I END

7 .- But when we display the RTP connections, there are no RTP connections:
RO *ALL,D NET,E,ID=ISTRTPMN
IEE421I RO *ALL,D NET,E,ID=ISTRT 824
SIS1 RESPONSES --------------------------------
IST097I DISPLAY ACCEPTED
IST075I NAME = ISTRTPMN, TYPE = RTP MAJOR NODE
IST486I STATUS= ACTIV, DESIRED STATE= ACTIV
IST172I NO RTPS EXIST
IST314I END
VSIS RESPONSES --------------------------------
IST097I DISPLAY ACCEPTED
IST075I NAME = ISTRTPMN, TYPE = RTP MAJOR NODE
IST486I STATUS= ACTIV, DESIRED STATE= ACTIV
IST172I NO RTPS EXIST
IST314I END

We can't find where the RTP connection are defined. The Redbook said that is not necessary define RTP connections. They are defined dynamically.

We've reviewed the ATCSTRxx member in both systems. The NODETYPE parameter is defined with NN (node server) in both systems. In the sample configuration redbook there is one system with NN and another with NE (Node ended) but when we ipled one system with this configuration and the vtam doesn't work fine. This test sysplex are connected by CTC nodes with the prod sysplex. The NETID in both sysplex are the same.

Which are the requirements for enable XCF connections in a sysplex?.

Hello:

It's solved. We've defined the COSAPPN and IBMTGPS nodes in VTAMLST and the RTP connection are working. Thanks to Jerzy Buczak for support.
