I'm looking for z/OS lifecycle information.
Previously there was simple table somewhere on IBM website, now I cannot
find it. Uncle Google does not help.
The only thing I found is "IBM Support - Software lifecycle", which is
horribly inconvenient and does not contain all z/OS releases.

Any clue?

Raphael,
Thank you for your quick answer.

Unfortunately this is the service I called horribly inconvenient. ;-)
And the page does NOT provide information about older z/OS versions. Not
to mention OS/390.

BTW: there is some information on en.wiki, unfortunately there are
serious mistakes there. Maybe because some source provide planned EOS
date, but it was changed later.

Are you referring to this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OS/360_and_successors

It seems quite accurate with Announcement letter references.

There might be one at the IBM TechDocs site, but it's too annoying to use these days (because it's not a simple list like it used to be!).
You can just check out a recent z/OS v2r4 or v2r5 session at SHARE from IBM and I'm sure they'll have a coloured table/slide with support status.

Yes, I am.
However I checked EOS dates for some z/OS releases and the difference is
big, even 1 year.
The other source was already mentioned IBM Support - Software lifecycle,
which is incomplete and inconvenient, but IMHO trusted source.

Examples:
z/OS 2.1 EOS
Wiki: 2019-09
IBM: 2018-09-30

z/OS 2.2 EOS
Wiki: 2021-09
IBM: 2020-09-30

Seems like there should be a wiki mainframe with better overview and more detail

I came into it after college, around MVS/XA

I'm one of the editors of [[OS/360 and successors]], and it's been very difficult to find references for [[OS/360 and successors#Timeline]]. If anybody knows of online announcement letters for the empty, "?" or unsourced cells, please edit the article or let me know so I can do it. Likewise for associated incremental change releases, selectable units, program products, e.g., DCF, DF/DS, DF/EF, DF/Sort, DFP, DFSMS, SCRIPT, SMP, , TSO/E, TSO Command Package. Thanks.

There are definitely dates that changed from the initial release announcement through EOS. If you have online sources for additions or corrections, post them and [[OS/360 and successors#Timeline]] will get updated.

I wish that the IBM archivist were willing and able to put all of the announcement letters online and index them.

Hi Radoslaw,

Please check page 28 which lists the GA and EOS dates for mainframe
operating systems starting from OS/390 V2R8

Is this the page you're looking for? (mind the wrap)

This page provides the life cycle dates for all z/OS V2 releases.
https://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/cgi-bin/ssialias?infotype=dd&subtype=sm&appname=ShopzSeries&htmlfid=897/ENUS5650-ZOS

Likewise this page for the z/OS V1 releases:
https://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/cgi-bin/ssialias?infotype=dd&subtype=sm&appname=ShopzSeries&htmlfid=897/ENUS5694-A01

And this page for OS/390 V2:
https://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/cgi-bin/ssialias?infotype=dd&subtype=sm&appname=ShopzSeries&htmlfid=897/ENUS5647-A01

Curious, why do you want this info for old releases, and why is the
other info you found "horribly inconvenient"?

I don't know about the OP, but I'd love to have something going back to IBSYS/IBJOB that I could cite in wikipedia articles.

First, thank you for your help, I appreciate it.

Answering your question:
1. Why I want the info.
Just curiosity and noticed discrepancies between some sources (i.e.
wiki). Call it morbid pedantry.
To be honest I have no business interest in it.

2. Convenience
I remember simple table. Clear, easy to use. Similar tables can be found
for z/VM and z/VSE systems - with really ooooold system releases.
Actually the information I found was OK, search process is inconvenient.
I type "z/OS" or "z/OS 2.1" and I get a lot of products and only one or
few z/OS entries. I can imagine more convenient interfaces. Further
explanations on request.
