We have converted all of our SNA circuits to TCP/IP connections, except for
one. So our 3745-170 is sitting there with just one 19.2KB SNI Connection
to another OS/390 mainframe at a remote site.

Has anyone successfully converted this type of circuit to IP? If so, what
did you do? We run LU62, JES, and 3270 traffic across this link. Any
suggestions?

Thanks,

I have not done this, but in theory you should be able to use SNA over IP
(ANYNET).

I have done LU62 and 3270 from PCOM to VTAM using SNA over IP.

Go to Networking.ibm.com and download some of their with papers on
this subject. To use SNI requires a 3745. However moving the boundary
fucntion off NCP and considering Extended Border Node via APPN could
help you. Also, you may consider an OEM product such as Connect:DIRECT
from Sterling. Enterprise Extender and Branch Extender from IBM may be
options also.
