Does anyone have information on the Tadenac Hunting and Fishing Club?
The Tadenac Club was located north of Penetanguishene, approximately
in the area between Go Home and Moon River. I have some correspondence
written on its letterhead, and it appears to have been a thriving lodge
at the turn of the century. I can document its existence from about
1894 to 1905, but I'm quite sure that it lasted for longer than that.
Many prominent Toronto lawyers and businessmen were regular visitors
(i.e., Wallace Nesbitt, A. Munro Grier, Thomas Gibbs Blackstock. etc.)
as well men of prominence from western New York, especially those
connected with power development. It was not a club exclusively for
men, as I have seen references to women making a "big catch" there too.
Thanks for your help.
