My name is Bruce Budzynski and I am a math teacher and Department Head at
Ludington High School in Ludington, MI. We have adopted the University of
Chicago School Mathematics Project (UCSMP) text books.

In our first year of using them I discovered my fellow teachers were skipping
the problems that required the use of a computer. The only computers
available to our teacher are in the computer lab and it is inconvenient to
sign up the lab for only one or two problems.

Since our school has the availability of TI-81 calculators in the classroom,
I rewrote the computer programs for the TI-81 calculator. Since they were
such a big hit at workshops where I presented them, I decided to publish
them.

I currently have the Transition Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Advanced
Algebra and Functions, Statistics and Trigonometry completed, copyrighted,
and for sale with the blessing of both ScottForesma and the University of
Chicago. These booklets contain the TI-81 program substitutes for the text
book, including the side panels; the lesson master; and tests and quizzes. I
have made them teacher friendly by including an answer key in the booklet.
Each lesson is available for duplication and distribution to your class. The
TI-81 version of Precalculus and Discrete Mathematics and TI-82 and TI-85
versions of all textbooks will be available in 1995.

Enclosed is an order form for your convenience.

If you have any questions, please contact me by e-mail, phone, or mail.

Greetings Bruce.
I am the Mathematics Department Head at H.H. Dow High School
in Midland, Michigan. I wouldn;'t be surprised if we attended
some of the same conferences!
Anyway, we don't use the UC materials, so I assume your stuff
would not be helpful. Is this correct?
By the way, we use TI-81/85 extensively in our classes.

Hi. Pardon me for jumping in, but I'm taking a class for which the
textbook includes extensive TI-81 examples. As I've just purchased a
TI-85, I find myself somewhat unable to translate the book's TI81
instructions into something that will work on the 85. Can you offer any
help, or know of reference material I can get?

Regards,

-maf
