New graduate student opportunities have become available at the Department
of Geography, University of Saskatchewan, at both the doctoral and master's
levels. These arise from NSERC-funded projects on "Modelling the
hydrological system of high latitudes from point to small basin scales" and
"Automated digital landscape analysis for hydrologic modeling". Students
would work under the supervision of Dr. Lawrence Martz to develop a research
project to address issues associated with the extraction and transfer of
hydrologic model parameters across a range of spatial scales. Applicants
should have a background in hydrology and GIS.

In addition to working with faculty in the department, graduate students
would have an opportunity to interact with scientists associated with the
National Water Research Institute and the Mackenzie GEWEX Study (MAGS). Note
that students bringing NSERC or other major scholarships will receive full
tuition bursaries and be given an opportunity to work as teaching or
research assistants.

Please post and distribute. Interested students should contact me as soon as
possible for more information.
