I have FTP'ed some .shp (shape) files, from a windows computer to a Unix
(IRIX 6.5) computer. They are both running Arc/View 3.1.
For some reason I can't see the files on the unix computer, when I try
to "Add Theme to View". They are perfectly visible in the normal unix
shell, so the files are okay, but Why can't Arc/View see the files???
Any suggestion might be helpful...
Best regards

Martin,
When I transfere files from WinNT-ArcView3.1 to Solaris-ARC/INFO, ARC/INFO
can only "see" the shape files if the names are all lower case. A shape
file named Part1.shp is not visable to import, but if I rename it part1.shp
it is visible. Maybe UNIX-ArcView is doing the same.
