Thank you for looking into it. I think there may still be segments of
life. Within the past few years I checked into some German-language news
groups and was soon overwhelmed by the number of posts. I don't think
even the one-way technology which was there before at UB would work for
me now since now I'm using Juno which doesn't know how to post to
newgroups I don't think. I tried posting to Geodesic through my other
ISP, but the messages bounced, perhaps because they weren't patient
enough to get through your delayed acceptance, or maybe it was the way I
aliased my return address so it looked like I was posting from a yet
another Spanish ISP I use. I cross post to Usenet manually now and then,
and bit.listserv.geodesic is pretty dead. Fortunately not even the
spammers seem to think much of it. But Usenet/Gopher enthusiast Spencer
Hunter says he is still holding out so I won't give up the fort.
And thanks to Dick for cross posting Landolf's blog to Synergeo. It
would have been easy for me to do, but I forgot. I will be more careful
in the future. I'm less well connected to Synergeo and just scan the
subject lines for things that might be of interest. This list has about
the right amount of traffic for me, and the posts can be interesting. I
was sorry to lose QQQ knowing the insight he was capable of, but yes he
was getting too unglued and the silly posts got to be rather tedious.
