Newark, Delaware (July 30, 1998)
Iron Hill Park. Uniformed police officers have
been frequenting this park. Police will solicit
for sex, let you get their pants down, and then
arrest you. Only one entrance/exit into the park.
Also, some bashing reported. Six incidents of
police and gay bashing in the past 1 1/2 months.
Jackson, Tennessee (July 28, 1998)
Muse Park. I was cruising the park tearoom next to
the tennis courts recently and was followed and
watched as I stood at urinal. The guy kept rubbing
his crotch. I started to jack-off and turned
towards him and he pulled out his badge. He did
not arrest me, but told me a file was being made
and I better never be found in there again.
West Hollywood, California (July 27, 1998)
Beverly Center. Undercover police are catching
guys in the restroom near Bloomingdale's. One of
the cops is a very handsome white guy who is
assisted by one African-American guy and one
Hispanic cop.

Cinema West has been under a sting operation for
the past month. Cops are cruising the theatre,
groping their crotches, unzipping, and soliciting
individuals for sex, first offering sex for $20
and then "discounting" to a dollar or two until
the victim gives them a buck just to get them to
go away - then you are busted! Over 100 arrests!
The theater has now been sold so it will be
closing soon. City of Austin has been trying to
force the owners to sell the building and thus
drummed up charges to file a nuisance suit. Cops
have been staked out daily in the adjoining
neighborhood and processing arrested individuals
right on the neighborhood streets.
Blairsville, Pennsylvania (July 25, 1998)
Pine Ridge Park. In the last several months,
undercover cops have made 7 arrests of men for
either engaging in or propositioning for sex.
Names DO appear in the newspaper.
Conyers, Georgia (July 25, 1998)
Rest area off I-20. The police harrassed a friend
of mine one night. He was in his car and they
searched his car trying to find something on him
for 20 minutes.
Rotorua, New Zealand (July 25, 1998)
Kuirau Park tearoom. There is a surveillence
camera operating and plain-clothes cops.
Los Angeles, California (July 25, 1998)
Griffith Park. LAPD and park rangers are doing
more patrols and making more arrests. After 10:30
at night people are going to jail for being in the
park. Vice officers have been targeting the
restrooms in the peak hours.

Hanes Mall. Recently I was followed throughout the
mall by security gaurds in plain clothes with
radios. Finally, they followed me into restroom so
I left.

Green Key Park. Undercover police have made
several arrests recently. All have made the
newspapers.
Northampton, Massachusetts (July 25, 1998)
Rest areas off I-91, north and southbound. Police
ticket anyone seen near or coming out of the
adjacent woods. Lot is marked with "Live parking
only" signs. The ticket you get says "disobey
sign"- a $35.00 ticket with no questions asked but
a 2 point surcharge on auto insurance because the
ticket is classified under "moving violations."
Another person wrote to add this detail: There
were straight couples there, and the cop who
ticketed me made a point of telling them that
there was nothing to worry about, to go about
their business.
Minneapolis, Minnesota (July 25, 1998)
Nicollet Mall. More than 30 men have been arrested
at the second floor restroom and at the adjoining
Minneapolis Hyatt Regency. One person arrested was
a Hyatt employee. They fired him and also told his
other employer about the arrest and that employer
also fired him.
Miami, Florida (July 24, 1998)
Larry and Penny Thompson Park. The wooded area,
restrooms, parking lots, bike and hiking trails
are being patrolled by undercover officers.
Chicago, Illinois (July 24, 1998)
Marshall Field's on State Street. Three ceiling
tiles have been removed above one stall on floor 3
for the purpose of surveillance. Security will
follow and threaten to arrest those involved in
looking under stalls.
Richmond, Virginia (July 24, 1998)
A news report on cruisy parks listed on this
Website was done by WRIC TV Channel 8. It listed
and videotaped many of the sites.
Cummington, Massachusetts (July 24, 1998)
Swift River. There are notes posted along the
trails detailing an EPA study to determine if
human presence is causing problems with the
wildlife. This is an attempt to stop nude sun
bathing and cruising. There will be a vote on
August 1 in Cummington to decide if a 30 minute
parking limit will be enforced.
Salisbury, Maryland (July 23, 1998)
Watch out for police activity at the rest stop on
Route 50 and Phillip Morris Drive. They just
arrested five "consenting adults" for solicitation
and "perverse sexual activity." Neighbors in the
area have been bugging police about this very
cruisy spot. Those rounded up had their names
published in the paper as well.
Fishkill, New York (July 23, 1998)
Restroom next to ATM machine, opposite Pizza Hut.
Recently I was there for about an hour and a mall
security guard came in and peeped in the crack of
the door. I left and went out to the car and he
followed me out and walked down the sidewalk and
walked behind my car and stared at the license
plate number. He just turned away as if not
bothered and wrote down the license plate . Wonder
what he will do with it?
Atlanta, Georgia (July 23, 1998)
Spur Gas Station, Cheshire Bridge Road at
Sheridan. Three arrests were made there last
night.
Danville, Virginia (July 23, 1998)
Piedmont Mall, J C Penney, on the southside lower
level. Sexy, young shorts-clad vice squad cops in
teams, both wired. One stands at urinals appearing
to masturbate; openly looks through cracks in
stall doors. If he even SEES a cock (as in walking
up to a urinal with it already out or taking it
out) he shows his badge and asks you to come
outside to an unmarked cruiser where his partner
is waiting, claiming to have been listening in on
a wire. Without arresting you they ask you to sign
a formal statement (which they write up)
supposedly giving your version of events in the
restroom. They claim it will be given to the
prosecuting attorney to decide whether to issue a
warrant for "Indecent Exposure." Note that this
can be without a word spoken by the target to the
cops; without even a gesture! Just not keeping it
"hidden", or handling your piece straining to
piss, is regarded as masturbation. No actual
arrest is usually made at the scene. The most
innocent of guys could get taken down, here, as
the cops claim to have recorded "every word, every
sound" over the wire, even if there was nothing to
hear. They remain polite, as if to coax the target
gently into admitting to something he did not do
or intend to do.
Attleboro, Massachusetts (July 22, 1998)
Rest area off I-95. I recently encountered severe
harrassment by a state trooper - well beyond
rational behavior given that there was no illicit
behavior - just conversation between two
professional men. The trooper was obviously
extreme in his homophobia and could possibly react
violently given any slight aggravation. Patrolman
Keefe is his name (very attractive by the way).
New Brunswick, New Jersey (July 21, 1998)
Livingston Campus, Rutgers University. Police are
working undercover at Rutgers Ecological Preserve.
Just look for the black car parked outside of the
lot. Cops are plainclothes and DO cruise you
first. On July 19 six guys were pinched in one
clip.
Louisville, Kentucky (July 21, 1998)
Eva Bandman Park. Recently as I walked out in
plain view I was stopped by Louisville police and
asked my reason for being there. Suddenly three
more officers came up. As they were asking me why
I was there, the radio came back that I had no
outstanding warrants and the inital officer told
me I could go. Needless to say I'm shook up.
Sioux Falls, South Dakota (July 21, 1998)
Both Sherman Park and Tut Hill Park. Police are
cracking down on "public sex" in these parks.
There has been one arrest and more will follow.
The police chief said he was acting on complaints
from the public who have walked in on oral sex.
Tucson, Arizona (July 21, 1998)
Greasewood Park. Please beware there are some cops
that jog along in pairs, dressed in very skimpy
outfits. Arrests are being made.
Seattle, Washington (July 21, 1998)
North Acres Playground. A local neighborhood group
has hired a private security firm to scare folks
away. About once an evening the rent-a-cop drives
up one of the wider sections of the nature trail
with lights on, jumps out near each restroom,
makes a lot of noise calling out, "Security!
Anyone in here?" and occasionally (illegally)
locks the restrooms.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (July 20, 1998)
Philadelphia Gay News is reporting that owners of
about a dozen Philadelphia adult bookstores met
with lawyers last week to discuss possible legal
action in response to a new law that would require
the stores to close between the hours of 10 pm and
8 am. The law is on the books but has yet to be
enforced.
Cedar Rapids, Iowa (July 20, 1998)
Shaver park is being patrolled. The newspaper has
even had stories on the cruising. Parking areas
have been blocked off, and police now sit in the
park.
Starkville, Mississippi (July 20, 1998)
Mississippi State University. Security is getting
tough at Lee Hall basement bathroom. Rumor has it
there are videos and recorders.
Santa Ana, California (July 20, 1998)
Santiago Park. Rangers Poole and Hill are over
zealous and will harass and/or ticket men for
doing absolutely nothing more than eating their
lunch at the park. This happened to me. I
complained to the Santa Ana Park and Recreation
Department. I recommend that others do the same. I
also suggest you forward a copy of the complaint
to the ACLU. If you get a speeding ticket at the
park, fight it. You'll win if you inform the judge
that there are no speed limit signs in the park.
Bellingham, Washington (July 19, 1998)
Bow Hill rest area. A camera has been installed in
one of the two northbound restrooms to monitor
activity. Just look up and you will see.
Ithaca, New York (July 19, 1998)
Six Mile Creek and attendant trails. I have
information from a reliable informant that the
Ithaca Police and Park Police are planning a raid
on the 6-mile Creek area sometime in the next 4
weeks.
New York, New York (July 19, 1998)
Fort Tilden. This former army base on the ocean
and now part of the Gateway National Shoreline was
once a safe haven for cruising. Now police are
posing undercover as friendly and available in
swimsuits and arresting men who suggest having sex
with them. Police and park rangers are everywhere.
Definitely not a cool place to cruise anymore.
Edgewood, Maryland (July 18, 1998)
On July 11 at 2:22 am, 3 men where arrested by
undercover cops at Bush River Books. The local
paper listed their names and addresses. Also, on
July 9,1998 at 10:50 pm a man was arrested at the
same store. Minutes later a man was arrested at
Pulaski Video. All where charged with indecent
exposure. This acording to The Aegis of Wednesday
July 15, 1998.
Wilmington, North Carolina (July 18, 1998)
Hugh McRae Park. Police recently arrested 10 in an
undercover sting.
Evansville, Indiana (July 17, 1998)
Mesker Park. A local television station did an
investigative report about men cruising for sex at
this park. Although it is not known if any arrests
have been made, the news reporter and his team set
up hidden video cameras that recorded "men
fondling themselves" and "the license plates of
cars who circled the park for hours."
Titusville, Florida (July 17, 1998)
Playalinda Beach. They have been ticketing but not
arresting people this summer. I was informed by a
local that most police action is taken on
weekends.
Louisiana statewide (July 17, 1998)
The state legislature has approve new funds to
increase highway police patrols, especially at
rest areas.
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (July 17, 1998)
Rest area off 11/15, northbound side. State police
are patroling parking lots around 11 pm and
returning a few hours later to see who is still
there. Some have been cited.
Bear, Delaware/Frederick, Maryland (July 16, 1998)
Numerous complaints of drug and sexual activity
prompted a sting operation Monday and led to two
arrests. Both men were taken before a bond
commissioner Monday and released on personal
recognizance, police said. The special covert
operation was centered on Keep Tryst Road and
Weverton Road.
Leesburg, Virginia (July 16, 1998)
Balls Bluff Regional Park. A park employee will
block your vehicle and give you a warning that
your license plate has been turned into the
sheriff. He did this to a straight guy who may sue
the Park Authority.
Van Nuys, California (July 15, 1998)
Woodley Park. I have been going there for years
with excellent cruising action. The last two times
I have gone, I've seen two arrests by undercover
cops. Looking at the cops, I would have never
guessed they were undercover.

stirring shit with cruisers on the section of
beach near NE 16th Street.

Be careful of the reservoir. The cops have been
watching very closely. They seem to be there night
and day. Possible entrapment going on.

White Plains Regional Park. Cops are definitely
watching the area. They have been seen entraping
people -- rubbing their cock then walking down the
trail and when guys follow them, they have been
brought out in handcuffs. Also, it is a fact that
the cops have been hiding in the woods and riding
bicycles on the trails. A female and male cop walk
together patrolling the area.
Culver City, California (July 15, 1998)
Fox Hills Mall, Robinsons-May. Yesterday store
security was involved in a major sting operation.
They were arresting people right and left. (And
threatening the ones they couldn't get anything
on). The cops were doing just about anything it
took to get these men to fall into their trap.

Please pass on to whoever wrote this, that a complaint filed with the
Commissioner of Public Safety can be very effective against this sort of
harassment.
It was over 30 years ago, but I filed a complaint against a Massachusetts
State Trooper who had tailgated me for more than four miles without
attempting to pull me over. I lost big-time in court--in fact it had
repurcussions which may have transformed my entire life, even to the extent
of my sexual makeup. The probation office from the court was on the city
zoning commission and forced the commission into executive session after
which they denied a routine zoning request that the other two were obviously
ready to grant. Had I stayed in that town, I might well have found a woman
and gotten married. Having lost my business, I moved to a larger city and
discovered my true sexual identity.
But then I filed a letter of complaint with the Commissioner of Public
Safety, in which I detailed a death I knew of following a high-speed police
chase in which the local town constable chased a car even across the state
line without identifying himself as a cop, and mentioned that almost every
week you could pick up a paper and read about a death following a high-speed
police chase--and mused about the number of such cases in which the police
officer had failed to identify himself. The officer's first words to me as
he approached me after pulling me over was "Funsies, eh?" and I knew that he
had chased me for the fun of it, (he was in his new Ford Police Special, and
I was in an MGA Twin Cam roadster, a limited production race car whose only
purpose was to get it homologated as a production car for SCCA road racing)
as well as to push me to a higher speed than he had initially clocked me at.
I was upset. I didn't hear anything more about it for a while, but then I
arrived home from work one day, to find the State Trooper's boss waiting for
me, chatting amiably with my mother. He was there for one reason and one
reason only: to get me to rescind my letter of complaint. It seems that this
guy had been a trooper for 14 years, and was up for promotion to sergeant,
and could not be promoted with my letter on file. Oops. I responded that he
should have thought of that before he started goading me into a race for his
own enjoyment, and no, I was not about to rescind my complaint.
He quit the force, and went to work for the federal DOT, so he could harass
truckers. When he died of cancer years later, hundreds of cops from several
states came to our small town to attend his funeral. It was like they viewed
him as some kind of cop's cop. I view him as corrupt, then and now.
More recently, I filed a complaint against a cop who had stopped me for
speeding on my motorcycle, when I knew he was behind me, and held my speed
very close to the limit. Internal affairs swept my complaint under the rug,
but some time later the officer was told to resign, and I understand from a
local private detective with ties to the cops, that my complaint was one of
many reasons why he was told to resign. My complaint was so well detailed
that it was a prominent one of those reasons. Again, the judge in the case
found against me, and did her best to hamper the internal affairs investigation.
In any case like this where you did nothing wrong, and have the cop's name,
complain, Complain, COMPLAIN!
