John Swan, Lagros Fire Department (Wabash, IND) killed in LOD
6 August 1996. FF Swan arrived on scene of an MVA with injuries on a rural
road, to which he'd been dispatched. He was shot and killed by one of the
motorists. The subject also shot operator of the other vehicle in the MVA and
a resident of a nearby home who sought to render aid.
FF Swan's father is also a member of the Lagros FD.

Swan.
What is the status of the shooter?
My opinion is the shooter should be first in line for the death penalty.
When the nations police and firefighters are under attack by the very
people they swear to protect & serve, it threatens all of us.

With great sadness I have read about this tragic incident, when someone
in all the best intentions to help is killed by one of the people he
wanted to give his service to.
So please relay my deep felt condolences to the family of John Swan and
his fellow FF's. Words can not describe what I am feeling.
