Brothers and Sisters;

Recently two firefighters in my department have come down with
identical cancers. They have presented with Sqaumous Cell Carcinoma also
known as Spindle Cell Carcinoma. It is as their request that I canvass
this group.
These cancers are generally associated with prolonged exposure to
the sun. I am curious if there is any connection to firefighting
occupational exposure which may be associated with these types of
cancer. Any information that you wish to forward to me would be
appreciated.

NIOSH has done a number of studies on firefighters and cancer. Helpful
information is available at http://www.cdc.niosh.gov
