request for information: Waldorf Education

Greetings,
I am a reference librarian working with a group of local
parents who have initiated a proposal for Waldorf Education in
the local public school. The initiative has met with growing
interest and support at the community level, but concern and
some outright opposition from the school board and teachers'
union.
As a librarian I have been startled by the lack of
independent study of Waldorf techniques and philosophy available
in standard education literature. My question to this list is:
is there anyone out there researching Waldorf? anyone who would
be willing to discuss sources of information or outcomes of their
own efforts?
The local group has Waldorf-sponsored research, primarily
from European studies, and some popular press reports from
sources like _Utne Reader_...
I would greatly appreciate any information or assistance
available from folks on this list! Please respond privately;
I'll be glad to summarize for the list if there is interest.
