One obvious source is the Adopt-a-School effort in most cities. In our small
town (approx. 35,000) we have about 30% of the businesses as adaptors for an
elementary or secondary school. They contribute mostly time, in the form of
mentoring, winter coat drive, career week, etc. rather than money. It sets up
a nice relationship between public schools and the private sector. I suspect
there is a national organization of Adopt-a-School in Washington. Good luck.
