We are migration some proprietary EDI programs to the Harbinger
mapping tool. We were wondering if anyone knows of a tool you can buy
to document the EDI transactions (both EDIFACT and ANSI). We would
like to document the transactions first and then create the maps from
the documentation. (The Harbinger tool does not do a good job of
providing documentation.)

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Gregory,

We use EDISIM from Foresight and have been happy with it.
You can find them at: http://www.foresight-edi.com/

Cheers,

IM

Gregory:

Our EDISIM suite of tools can solve your documentation needs. FORESIGHT
Products provide functionality beyond the scope of your EDI translator,
including all aspects of trading partner implementation, testing, and
documentation. EDISIM consists of six modules:

Standards Editor - Create customized implementation guidelines from
published standards.

Document Builder - Produce professionally formatted documentation of your
guidelines.

Analyzer - Analyze transactions for compliance with published standards or
your own implementation guidelines.

Test Data Generator - Generate test data for any transaction from any
standard or implemention guideline, without laborious data entry.

Comparator/Migrator - Compare standards or guidelines, or standard to
guideline. Report selected differences, and automatically migrate your
guidelines to a newer version of the standards.

Standards Reference - View standards and guidelines with a versatile
graphical EDI browser that lets you see all aspects - sets, segments, loops,
elements, codes, syntax notes, and more.

The implementation conventions defined with Standards Editor are also used
in the EDISIM Ambassador trading partner self-test kits. Standards Editor
can directly export implementation conventions in the Standards Exchange
Format (SEF). Many EDI translators can directly import SEF.
