Over the last several months she has lost a significant amount of
weight, her hair is falling out, she trembles and cries every morning
when we try to bathe and dress her. She acts terrified to go down the
stairs and crawls on all 4. Now she won't sit down and eat, she walks
around with her food. I have asked for a blood test to check for
metabolic disorders back in February. I won't get the test until the
end of May because they have to sedate her to even perform any simple
test. And Childrens Hospitals first available appt isnt until end of
May. I strongly believe that if any of my other kids had these
symptoms the doc would be on it ASAP to figure out what was going on.
Emily is a difficult patient and somewhat of a medical orphan.
She is on abilify and a very high dose...I think she is experiencing
adverse reactions to it, but her doctor won't taper her down until
after the test in May. This is an absolute nitemare trying to get
support and help for my daughter. If anyone has some suggestions for
me I would be so grateful.

Hi Diane,
I don't know anything much about autism. My daughter has DS. I hope things
have gotten better for your daughter!
