My daughter's school just reinstituted their policy about having visitors
sign in and get a guess pass in response to parent concerns about student
safety. Last year there was an attempted abduction incident at my
daughter's school.

Yes, my thoughts exactly and by the way at all the schools my kids have been
at when you get a pass no one calls ahead to the teacher to tell her a
parent is coming. I would rather err on caution, and at one school you also
had to sign out when you put your pin back in.
