T.C. Van Adler is the author of a mystery called St. Agatha's Breast. One
of my library patrons said the book says this name is a pseudonym. Anyone
know who T.C. Van Adler really is? Thanks.

Both the New York Times Book Review (2/21/99) and Publishers Weekly
(12/21/98) reviews indicate that T. C. Adler is a pseudonym and according
to the publisher (St. Martin's) the author "works for the Roman Catholic
Church." Stasio at the N.Y. Times didn't even know if the author was male
or female. No further information forthcoming, and St. Martin's web page is
under construction. There is no entry in Contemporary Authors yet, nor was
there anything at the Library of Congress or at the Copyright office.

It is a mystery! Anybody else?

Donna, Lesa and others who savor unmasking the name
behind the pseudonymn,

The Library of Congress has cataloged the Van Adler
title and created a "Name Authority Record" for the
author, but does not indicate that they are aware
that the name is/might be a pseudonym!

For the curious, below are portions of the 'electronic'
record for Van Adler's 'name' and his/her book.
