Dina Yagodich's mention of the WSJ article about the guy who tried to deduct
payments to prostitutes from his taxes reminds me of when I was a grad student
in anthropology, many years ago. One of my fellow students did his summer
''fieldwork'' investigating the subject of prostitution in Bangkok. He actually
spent the summer in a Thai whorehouse, came back and wrote a major research
paper on it, which was accepted by the department!
