Hi Everybody!

Wow, I've been mostly away from DorothyL for almost a month! I had a
fabulous lunch with Laurie Smith in St. Louis, way back on April 12th.
Laurie is a great tour guide and knows good bookstores! St. Louis is
great--my SO, Kris and I had a wonderful time visiting the Arch,
catching a Cardinals-Reds game, and just walking around. Last Monday, I
attended the Festival of Mystery (which was held about 1/2 a block away
from Kris's apartment!) and had an interesting evening. I did my usual
thing where I somehow manage to put my foot in my mouth when conversing
with an author--hopefully someday I'll get over this! I had a great
time talking with Anne Underwood Grant! It was very nice to meet her,
and catch up with her a little, since she's been offlist for awhile.
She has a new book coming out this summer, Cuttings.

I was very disappointed that Keith Snyder was unable to make it to the
Festival of Mystery. He was definitely one of the people I was looking
forward to meeting!

Some recent reads include Bill Crider's Murder is an Art, Wendi Lee's
Deadbeat, Sujata Massey's Zen Attitude, Anne Perry's Bedford Square,
Carroll Lachnit's Akin to Death (very involving), Lev Raphael's Death of
a Constant Lover (one of my top reads of the year!), and Sophie Dunbar's
Shivaree (a lot of fun!).

Nice to be back!

Take care, everyone!
