HarperCollins Interactive ... I heard mixed reviews, bought it, and am
of the opinion that it is a typical cd, prob. best if you are able to

Dear Kevin

If you looking for Sign lanugage dictorny on CD_Rom, you may stop by at
CompUSA in your area, because I used to work there and they have that kind
of software, if you could not find it, ask in customer service. I am sure
they have on the computer list that you can pick one of those.

Unfortunaely CompUSA discontinued their sign language CD. You can order
the Martin Sternberg ASL CD for about $50 through Harper Collins
Interactive at 1-800-424-6234 (voice/TTY). It's worth the money. If
anyone knows of an electrical enineering/math dictionary, I'd like to
hear about it though.

JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT A REVISED EDITION IS COMING OUT, IF NOT YET.

The revised edition is already out. From what I know Harper Collins
Interactive sold the rights of the CD Rom to Multicom. Multicom has
left the true content of the CD Rom the same, but it has a whole new
look to the CD Rom. The best thing about the CD Rom is that it is
truly Windows 95 compatable.

From feedback I got, the Harper Collins version had problems running
on a Windows 95 platform. The new CD Rom from Multicom is Win 3.X,
Windows 95, and Mac compatable.

The CD Rom is now a Windows/Mac hybrid, and after testing it, I think
it is great.

My favorite CD-ROM for beginning ASL is called
"Sign Language for Everyone"
published by B&N Software
www.bnsoftware.com

It has lessons and quizzes and a look-up dictionary.
The signs are shown with video clips as well as written descriptions and
hints.
Best of all, this package is sold for under $15.

I also have this CD, which I found to be a great help to me when I =
wasn't in ASL class (I'm hearing. My other half is deaf.). The only =
problem that I had is that there a couple of errors in it as to a sign =
for a specific word. When I think of them, I'll pass it on. Overall, I =
was very happy with it.

Kathy had suggested the Sign Language For Everyone CD. I happened to
order myself today since it's a good price. They sent me an address that
I could post (with permission). If you want to order, send $12.99 (check
or money order) to the following address:

The B&N Companies
1 Buckhead Plaza
3060 Peachtree Rd. NE
Atlanta, GA 30305

Be sure to include the CD title and also your return address. You can
also email boo...@mindspring.com or as said before look at
www.bnsoftware.com.
