Hi. I'm (still) in the process of looking into moving our DB2 security
administration to RACF. I think there's a few of you out there who have either
already done this, or are looking into it. I have a few questions and/or
concerns that hopefully somebody could either provide some answers or point me
in the right direction.

1) Does anybody know of any good manuals or redbooks that discuss and/or advise
on how to implement the migration of DB2 security to RACF? The only thing that
I can find is a Redbook, "Ready for e-business: OS/390 Security Server
Enhancements" (SG24-5158-00) that has a chapter on the subject, but I'd like to
see a little more detail on what's really going on, rather than just an
overview. I'd be kind of surprised if IBM does not have a publication that
covers this topic a little more in depth. This seems like a perfect subject for
it's own Redbook.

2) We've downloaded the RACF/DB2 Conversion Utility from IBM's ftp website to
look at, but it's just provided "as-is", and seems to have some mistakes and/or
omissions in it. The Redbook that I mention above also has an appendix that
includes all the SQL statements necessary to help build the RACF commands for
those customers (like us) who don't have the RXSQL software needed for the
conversion utility, but I think that some of this SQL also contains some errors.

If anybody out there has gone through this process, and would be willing to
share their experiences, particularly with the conversion utility and/or how
they migrated to RACF, I would be most appreciative.

Thanks,

Can't tell you the exact month but in the last 14 months in Tech
Support Magazine there was an in depth article from two IBM'ers on how
to do this.
