The University of Calgary recently purchased a Windows Grading Program
for use on IBM and compatible PC's. It is still in its early stages.
We have done field testing and it is just going into production this fall.
The product is called Easy Grade. It has several nice features including
Weighting assignments, importing class files of students, importing
optical scored tests, customized or standard reports, high volume input
screen, produce subfiles for teaching assistants, nice graphs and statistics,
and the possibility of loading grades back into the central system. We
haven't yet had enough feedback but we are very interested in supporting our
instructors in electronic grading. We also supply class lists for spreadsheet
programs such as Excel and Lotus and we have a site licence for a MacIntosh
grades program called Micrograde.

I am sending this note as many institutions have expressed interest in grades
software.

Hello Mr. Kallsen. I appreciate your posting about Easy Grade. I have
downloaded it but can't seem to find any capability for importing class
files, scored tests, or exporting grades back to mainframe. Do you know
whether the trial version just doesn't have these capabilities?

We at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC are considering the
development of a web-based grade book but if a suitable product were
available we would certainly rather purchase. Thanks. sdh.

Jim,

Can you give me pricing information for the Easy Grades software? I forwarded your e-mail to our Academic Dean and he is interested. Thanks for any additional information you can offer.
