Can someone tell me about "watercolor painting on porcelain? I read a
brief description of it somewhere a while back and would like to try it. I
know that it was developed by a Norwegian and uses oxides mixed with water.
Would the same technique work on stoneware?

hi! there are actually two messages this evening about which i have some
experience to share. so far i've just been learning from others here on
this list.

the answer to your question is yes, but it depends on the clay you use how
much interence there will be (the color, iron spots, and the like), but i
have gotten some interesting results.

try a few test pieces and see what you get, and then let us know where you
go with it!

There is an article in the latest issue of Ceramics: Art and Perception
(issue 24)
by Gabi Dewald titled 'The Mirror of the Thought" which is about watercolor
painting
- mentions Norwegian Arne Ase's book Water-colours on Porcelain...
