Hi, Pamala - I, too, would never do raku if there were a burning ban that
included BBQs! Just too risky if things are that dry. But our burning bans
here are just the usual "no burning the dry grass off", "no burning of
orchard/vineyard prunings", and "no open camp fires" type. The grass and
shrubs are always green (this is the "other side of the fence"), we work on
a big cement slab, and everything is wetted down, with a "live" hose at
hand. I certainly sympathize with people who live where there are bans that
include BBQs, which was the case north of here last summer, where there were
horrendous fires. Very scary!
