I stopped by my favorite salvage place last week, it is indoors and the
size of a super Wal-mart. A lot of the industrial salvage I do not
understand, wish I knew more about what I was looking at, but this trip I
spied two boxes marked "K-Lite" rated: RT , Density: 6 2" thick, 24"
wide ,12 1/2 feet long . I copied down the maufacturer's phone number in
Ohio and called - asked them what it was rated to and they said 2300
degrees. I am wanting to build a raku kiln, mine is wearing out, and so
I bought both boxes at $15.00 each. My question is, did I pay a good
price? I am not familiar with cost of refractory fiber. Thanks.
