Have you seen MARTHA, MEET FRANK, DANIEL AND LAURENCE? A British romantic
comedy about three men and an American "tourist". If you think Joe was good
in "Shakey Shags" then you should strap yourself down for this one. I would
also recommend ANOTHER COUNTRY and A MONTH IN THE COUNTRY, the performances
by Colin Firth have had rather disturbing effects on my female friends.

Have you noticed that, where there was a "Rat Pack" and then a "Brat Pack"
there is now a "Brit Pack"? Comprising Ewan, Jude, Johnny Lee Miller, Robert
Carlisle, Sean Pertwee, and maybe Joe, to name but a few... (or is it just
my imagination?).

Oh dear. That's all I can say about that.

I'm becoming more and more fond of Kevin Spacey as the years go by, as the
characters role by. I first admired him in GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS and now,
well, big sigh.

Speaking of dreamy actors, that Joe Fiennes! I saw his debut shot in
ELIZABETH (I did not watch the movie, haven't yet had the time) and about
died. I think he puts his brother in a shadow. And you all know how I
liked ol' Ralph way back when.

Here's a "He's Dreamy" list for 1999:

Kevin Spacey
Joseph Fiennes
Ewan McGregor
That dark haired kid from Dawson's Creek (what is his name?)
The guy who plays Will on Will and Grace (big movie career ahead, I'm sure)
Jude Law
Kevin Spacey
Vince Vaughn (even though he is a "Shari Frat Boy")
Kevin Spacey

in 'four weddings and a funeral', 'titanic' and i'm sure lots of other films
the british are seen as stuff/snobby and the dishy, easy-going, funny
americans rescue them. so annoying and stereotypical. then there were
plenty of james bond movies as well, and the hollywood film with stallone
where the men wear really tight jeans don't remember the name. would a
similar film be made of a british person going over to u.s. and all the
u.s.a.ians being made to look like dorks and the brit is the only cool one
around? or in britain a non u.s.a.ian foreigner, e.g. an indian/african
person who has just come over being really cool with whom all the british
people fall in love with
