hold a major medical conference on CFS research and clinical issues
during October 13-17, 1996 in San Francisco. The articles below
contain a tentative schedule of conference events, the conference
registration form, and AACFS membership information.

The American Association for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (AACFS) is a
non-profit organization of research scientists, physicians, licensed
medical care professionals, and other individuals and institutions
interested in promoting the stimulation, coordination, and exchange
of ideas for CFS research and patient care as well as periodic
reviews of current clinical, research and treatment ideas on CFS for
the benefit of CFS patients and others.

There are three membership categories:

Regular membership -- for qualified research scientists, physicians,
and other licensed healthcare personnel professionally engaged in CFS
activities. The bi-annual fee for Regular membership is $50.00.

Support membership -- for individuals, organizations, institutions
and commercial establishments contributing financially to the AACFS,
supporting national research meetings, or helping with membership
drives or programs of the Association. CFS patient support groups
are eligible for the category of membership at an annual fee of $100.
The annual fee for non-profit institutions or organizations is
$500.00. The annual fee for other institutions and organizations is
$1,000.00.

Honorary membership -- those persons recognized for their special
contributions to the battle against CFS by at least a two thirds vote
of the Board of Directors. No fee is required for honorary members.
