I visited a Trader Joe's in Cedarhurst, LI,NY and sorry to say, was very
disappointed. They had no organic goodies and little or nothing in the
way of GF. Interestingly, when I checked out their flavored coffees and
they contained malto-dextrin. I hadn't thought about flavored coffees,
I guess we have to check out everything.

I think that Fresh Fields (Bread & Circus) offers more.

I guess each Trader Joe's is different.

I've heard from several more people about Trader Joe's. Interestingly,
people either love it or hate it and for the same reasons I stated. The
store in Cedarhurst is a new store, formerly a dept store. The sales
help was not helpful and there were no lists available, in fact, it was
difficult to get information period.

My comment about the maltodextrin was two-fold. 1) this was the first
time I saw malto-dextrin listed as an additive to coffee. Usually a
flavoring is added, not malto-dextrin. 2) One of my lists had listed
it as a possible no-no. Since corn is a little rough on me, I guess it
did turn out to be a no-no, anyway.

Since a friend lives nearby, I will pop in on TJ's from time to time and
check in on them.

thanks
