A blues guitarist friend of mine told me this one...he said he once
asked an older blues player how to go about putting a successful band
together. The old guy looked at him with some disgust and told him to
get a pocketful of marbles. Every time my friend asked someone to
join his band, he was to take out a marble and throw it away. Once
he'd lost all his marbles, he'd have a band.
